Prize Winning Skeins

These were the big winners this year.

Best of Show: 2 ply woolen yarn, nice large skein Mary Smith
Merit: 2ply yak in the all other fibers category Bec Thomas
Merit: 2ply Spindle Spun (drop spindle) Maurice Thomson
Merit: Designer Yarn (Crepe) Mary Smith
Special Award: Single Woolen Laurie Wheeler

Congratulations to Mary, who has only been spinning for one year. Her work was excellent and her hard work paid off!

Other best in show was a wonderful pair of socks (that I don’t have a picture of darn it!) By Marie Lambert of Snohomish, absolutely wonderful job!

Youth awards went to:

Jessica Barnes, Best in Show for a felted caplet that was divine!
Sara Fakhroo, Best Use of Color for her crocheted Scarf
Sara Fakhroo Best of Show woolen singles
Jonas Thomas Best in Show for his Felted Purse
Jonas Thomas Best Educational Display for his VERY informative poster on needle felting and needle felting safety. (he’s stabbed himself once and doesn’t want it to happen again!)
